Social Media Marketing Strategy

By Michael Murphy

Social media provides you with the opportunity to see what is happening to other companies and use it to your advantage. SMM is an inexpensive and flexible means of promoting your company. Your followers will often give you feedback on your posts and you can tailor your future marketing around this feedback for greater effectiveness. That feedback and the tips in this article will help you drive more traffic and business to your website in no time at all.

Before you hire any social media marketing firm, be very cautious. Many of these companies run fraudulent operations to scam inexperienced Internet marketing business owners. There a number of companies that have the ability to use fake accounts on Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites to then fake registrations onto your page. Although you may see your view count rising, actual people are probably not seeing your advertisements; therefore, the money you are paying these companies is going to waste.

Take the time to respond to the feedback from your customers. If you are interested in building a successful business, your customers have valuable information to share. The problem most companies have is that they are all ears and no response. When customers know you are responding to their needs via their feedback, they will want to continue doing business.

Monitor your competitors on social media sites. Spend a little time looking at what your top five competitors are doing out there in the social media world. Look at which social sites they are most active on, what kind of content they are publish, how many fans they have and how they promote their site and what they have to offer.

To make sure your social marketing campaign is reaching your customers, find out where they congregate. Are many of them on Facebook or do they prefer Twitter? Depending on your niche, you might be better off looking at LinkedIn or even YouTube. Poll your customers and find out where they spend their internet hours. Pitch your tent there.

Be sure that your content is interesting and unique, so that other social media users will want to share it with others. People succeed by using social media, but only if their content sticks out from others. If you are out of ideas, you can always find inspiration online or from family and friends.

Whenever you post something on your blog or update your website, write a Facebook post right away. Perhaps you should plan ahead and write your post in advance so that you are not rushed to do it. Remember that people subscribed to your Facebook posts to be updated about what you are doing.

Post new content regularly. If you do not update your status at least once a week, your followers will forget that you exist. Perhaps you could post new content on the same day or at the same hour so that your followers have something to look forward to and will think about logging on to see what you have posted.

Get a WordPress blog so you can use the WordPress Retweet button. This features allows your visitors to post a link to one of your articles in their Twitter feed in a simple click. You could also add Retweet buttons on your website if you take the time to code it yourself.

Tag each of your posts on Twitter to improve your following. Hashtags, such as #articlebulder or #jonathanleger, are topic markers for Twitter postings. People subscribed to a certain tag will see your post if you include the hashtag. Look at groups that include your target audience, and then carefully select your tags.

Once you have your offering, a specific demographic to market to and the social media campaign to follow through, getting the word out about your business is a lot easier. It is merely necessary to post your media in the correct social networks as well as in a manner in which your target audience will see it. From there, all you must do is watch, learn, and react whilst you obtain the profits.
