Paris is most often termed as city of love by many people who know about its history. It is one of the cities which have not abandoned their culture despite civilization. Additionally, it has recorded culinary breakthroughs over the years. If you are planning to visit the city, you should not miss out on Paris cultural walks.

When you have basic information concerning the history, culture and people living in the city then you will not have a difficult time even if it is your first time there. French is the universal language and it helps learning a few phrases especially greeting, asking for directions or help in shopping. Fluency is not a must.

Use of restrooms outside your hotel require you to pay. Therefore, do not think that people are being rude to you if they ask for the pay. Since the rates are not high, you should ensure that you have lower denomination currency. Alternatively, you can use the washrooms before getting out of your room.

Paris has many smokers. You will find yourself in the midst of smoke clouds in some parts of he town. However, smoking in public has been banned. Not everyone plays by this rule especially in places where law enforcement officers are not many. Additionally, people who are used to wearing makeup at all times will be shocked by the lack of it in Parisians. In order to avoid been overly conspicuous, you should go with the natural look many people have in the city.

Even with the cultural differences, do not assume that everyone is rude. Differences should not be interpreted to mean rudeness. Greeting people with a smile is a great way to break the ice and start a conservation. If you are open, you will get to learn a lot from the natives within a short period of time.

You can move from one place to another using the metro or taxis. People who are on budget should not hire taxis because of the exaggerated rates. The metro will do just fine especially if you know how it works. Also, you will be able to get to every part of the town at very low prices and also very fast.

Restaurants serve French cuisine which is tasty. Also, no one will rush you to finish the meal and then leave. To note is that waiters will not bring the checks to your table. You have to request for them. You might end up lingering so long after the meals waiting for the check only to be disappointed.

One of the reasons traveling is encouraged is in order for people to learn new cultures and expand their social network. Getting professional tour guides during the walks is important. You can get answers to all your questions and learn so much about the city and its history. August is the month many tourists go to Paris. Avoid the city during this time if you do not like the idea of bumping into people every side you turn to.
