The dread of many people around the planet ebola pathogen go airborne

By Alfred Obi

Though gurus have said that ebola is spread through close contact with bodily fluids, some people claim the risk of ebola virus airborne is real. These folks accept that unless the world does not accept this, they won't do what is a requirement to end the ebola epidemic.

Interviews with communicable illness specialists have discovered while this is possible , it is extremely improbable. There is no historical case law of a pathogen changing its method of transmission this radically.

Everything which has occurred so far with ebola can be accounted for by person to person contact. In order for the ebola virus airborneit'd be to repeat the cells in the throat and lungs.

Second, the new method would need to be so efficient that it overcomes genetic costs to the virus. The natural hurdles Ebola must fight to become airborne makes airborne transmission unlikely.

Currently, the pathogen attacks the veins in opposition to the respiration system. Even viruses which do attack the breathing system find it difficult to get through the airways.

A good example of this is bird flu. Even though it is simply spread through the air with birds, it has yet mutated enough to infect humans simply.

If Ebola virus airborne, isn't yet a problem what does it mean. To the typical individual in the western world not very much. Infection is rare unless somebody spends time with someone who is infected. This situation is rare as the few folk who have displayed symptoms have been quarantined.

So far as the experts go, their time could be better spend studying the virus in its current form. When the pathogen itself shows indicators of mutating enough to become airborne, then it'll be a problem.

A few individuals claim that by that point it's going to be too late. Scientists will not have time to find treatments if the virus is spreading that rapidly.

This is true. But the unlikeliness of this happening might mean that scientists are squandering their time researching on how to treat ebola when it goes airborne. Currently lots of professionals accept that this may not ever occur. More lives may be saved by finding a way to treat and contain the virus.
