By Beth Yu

It's true that there are various situations in the lives of parenting fathers. Some fathers might be divorced, single and never married, widowed, gay and there are most likely more. But they still have a great opportunity as they are fathers, after all. Along with that, there are tremendous challenges that are part of their special situation or status. There are some wonderful resources out that there can help you deal with lots of challenges you may bump into. Single fathers face unique social, practical and emotional hurdles, but you have every reason to feel confident in your ability to do so successfully.

Having babies in the bed with parents is an issue that gets a great deal of discussion. But this is such an fascinating and important topic that we want to say a few more words about it. Some additional benefits to co-sleeping involve the stronger bond that can be formed between parents and their baby. Co-sleeping gives parents who miss out on precious moments due to a need to work outside the home an opportunity to recapture some of the time that's been missed even if it is while sleeping. There is also a positive influence on breast-feeding when co-sleeping. Recent studies show that co-sleeping with babies leads to fewer issues for the breast-feeding process.

A lot of research has been done on how to best raise and care for babies. Such studies have been performed on all sorts of issues such as sleeping habits. There are some who believe that the babies who co-sleep with parents actually sleep better. These babies have been found to wake less frequently in addition to falling asleep faster.

Times where you'll be challenged as a single parent and a father will come up, and you may not know what's the best thing to do. Having a good network of friends and family can be very helpful to you. Maybe you should consider joining a single parent support group. You can easily find these types of organizations either locally or online. We are sure you can find plenty of single parent networks on the internet. Often times you can quickly find someone experienced who has encountered what you are going through. So asking for some assistance shouldn't make you feel awkward.

Don't go for a dinner out with baby until you take a little time to see how baby is likely to react while you're dining. The reason is that kids are pretty consistent as far as how they are going to act at mealtime is no matter where they are eating.

There is not much else as gratifying as being a parent. As difficult an occupation as parenting, it can be the most taxing but most enjoyable as well. The best way to get things done is to have a good attitude when you are dealing with family issues. One way to have the ultimate family experience is to always keep a healthy outlook on your inner emotions.
