Are Goldendoodle Puppies For Sale In Phoenix Arizona A Good Fit For Your Family

By Brian Fisher

Everybody has to make their own decisions as to when to add a pet into their living situation. If you are a single person who travels extensively, you may not be able to care for an animal without help from a friend or relative. If you have a young child, there are certain types of pets you should avoid. People who live in small apartments or condominiums probably need to consider an animal that is content to live in a limited space. For families looking for a good dog that will compliment an active lifestyle, one of the Goldendoodle puppies for sale in Phoenix Arizona could be a good fit.

This mix of poodle and Golden Retriever is a fairly new breed and was introduced partially because of the popularity of its relative, the Labradoodle. Because the breed is so new, it has not yet been recognized by the kennel clubs. The characteristics, size, coat, and temperament are still evolving. No one should ever purchase a puppy from a mill or an unscrupulous breeder in part because the animal's normal personality traits can be distorted by poor living conditions and rough treatment.

You can usually depend on these dogs to be extremely friendly and people loving. They tend to make great family pets because they are good with children and other animals that may already exist in the household. Goldendoodles need attention and work best in families that regularly include them in their activities.

They are gaining in popularity for use in the field of guide and assistance dog because of their willingness to respond to their owners' commands. Most animals are easier to train as puppies than adults, and Goldendoodles are no exception. With steady and consistent training, and a few hugs and treats thrown in, they will learn to behave beautifully.

This breed is active, but not overly excitable. They must be exercised every day, but will enjoy a walk in the park as much as the free run of a big back yard. Goldendoodles are not animals that can be confined in crates or left alone for long periods of time. It is easy for them to get bored and restless which can end in the destruction of furniture and any clothing within their reach.

The dogs are generally healthier and have stronger constitutions than the original two breeds. Like all pets they require regular visits to your veterinarian for shots and checkups. Vets familiar with the breed know they may develop hip and elbow dysplasia, and some eye and skin disorders. Many of them will gain weight as they age so maintaining a healthy diet and making sure they get enough exercise is important to their overall well being.

As with any young breed there are certain characteristics that fluctuate. The size, adult weight, texture of the coat, and temperament of individual animals still vary fairly widely. Not all of them are non-allergenic or husky. Most of them do not require grooming beyond regular brushing and an occasional bath however.

Most pets become beloved members of the family and mourned as such when they eventually pass away. Those who have fond memories of a childhood canine friend might just make some new good memories with these loving dogs.
