First, you should try to learn as much as you can from others. In the facility that you are now working at, you will see more experienced educators who are dealing with the children. You have to observe and listen to them. The way they handle disruptive situations and diffuse tense ones should be a reference for you.

You should be very flexible if you are in this field. Even when you set a consistent schedule for them to follow while they are in the facility, you might encounter unexpected things. Thus, you must have enough flexibility to allow for the unexpected. Otherwise, you will not be able to cope with those situations.

Even when you have personal problems at home, you have to leave them behind. As an educator, you should always start your day with a friendly and warm greeting for the children in the facility. You should only pick up your problems at home when you return there. Always smile to give reassurance to the children.

Be attentive to the environment where you plan to put the kids at. For your daycare facility, try to look around and check the environment while using the perspective of parents. If, as a parent, the facility passes your check, then it should be okay. Make sure that the facility does not have any hazards that can harm the kids.

Individual differences are evident with the toddlers. You must learn to respect the individual differences of these toddlers then. This is basically true when you are looking at the toddlers' learning style. They have different learning style and you have to make sure that their learning style does not hinder their learning.

Never stop learning even when you have already become an experienced educator yourself. You must always have an open mind and positive attitude toward learning. You must learn continuously so that you can improve your skills and techniques. That would not only be good for you but for the kids as well.

Never stop attending professional meetings. Through the professional meetings, you can remain an active member of your professional organization. The professional organization is very beneficial for you since you can usually get a network of professionals who are in the same profession as you. Aside from that, you can get other helpful resources from the profession organization you belong to.

Do not hesitate to establish a good bond with the parents of the children you are looking after. This way, you can get to know more about the parents who are always with the children. The parents will have an effect on the growth of the children, after all. Thus, knowing them will let you have an idea on how you should deal with their children.
