More And More Nurses Are Using Compression Socks Each Day

By Chad Brooking

A lot of nurses work very long hours each day and they are typically on their feet more than any other profession out there. It does not matter whether they are walking the halls of a hospital or working in a doctor's office. What happens when the nurse is starting to feel pain because of their constant movements? The nurse will need a little TLC and the easiest way to do it is through them using compression socks for nurses.

With compression socks for nurses you will be able to walk easier, no matter how much time you spend on your feet. They are the same socks that doctors often prescribe for people who have lower leg pain and fatigue after exercising or if their patient has suffered an injury. Even the hospital that you work with may have used compression socks for people who are confined to a bed for an extended period of time while recovering. The good news is though, you do not need to get a prescription to have access to them anymore.

Compression socks can be purchased through online retailers and a variety of other stores in your local area. They are designed for both men and women. Runners can wear them to relieve pain and so can a variety of other people who are simply tired of tired legs. There are different brands to choose from, but none are better than the other. Their job is simply to help your heart and your veins do their job more efficiently so that you can do what you need to do throughout your day, no matter how long it lasts.

The way these socks work is a relatively simple concept. You put them on in the morning or before you go to work. They are going to feel tighter around the feet and ankles than they do up toward your knees which may take some getting used to. However, it will lessen the pain that you feel during the day because your muscles will not lose valuable oxygen as the day goes on.

Consider the fact that a nurse who is not wearing compression socks may not have all of the necessary oxygen in her lower extremity muscles as a nurse who is wearing them. Its simple gravity taking over. Your feet are always on the floor and your heart pumps oxygenated blood to them. This blood is filled with oxygen and once the oxygen is spent the blood travels back to the heart for refueling. Without compression, the return trip may be slower. This will lead to less oxygen and more fatigue in the muscles that require more valuable oxygen.

Wouldn't you like to be able to get off work and be able to do something else that you love doing, comfortably? That is what compression socks for nurses can do for you. They gently use compression against the muscles and veins to keep blood pumping and use your natural movements to encourage it to happen more effectively so that you can continue to walk with ease after the day is done. Can you imagine being pain free for that much time?

Another bonus about compression socks for nurses is that there are a lot of styles for you to choose from. There are socks, tights and sleeves for you to choose from as well as a variety of color choices. Some may even have patterns on them. It does not matter which ones you choose. They are all effective at removing pain from your lower legs. All you have to do is find the ones you like and try them on today.

How much better will you feel after wearing compression socks for nurses? Will you be happier in dealing with your patients if walking to them does not cause you constant pain? Will you be able to smile brighter if you are not limping through the last half of your shift? Patients do not want to see a nurse who is in more pain than they are. They need you to feel good and provide care with a smile. Are you ready to make it easier for yourself to do it for them, if not for yourself?
